As announced in the May issue of PIRE News, the process is underway for the Board to create opportunities to solicit staff input regarding what PIRE will become in the coming years and the role of the next CEO.
At the June Center Directors’ meeting, the Board’s Governance Committee, represented by Al Stein-Seroussi, had an in-depth discussion with the Center Directors regarding their vision of PIRE’s future and the leadership role of the next PIRE CEO. The Center Directors’ discussion was followed up the next day with two separate discussions with the Calverton Center Staff and the Central Business Office Staff.
Plans are now being formulated for the July Board meeting in Berkeley, CA, at the new PRC Office, to meet with Staff and listen to their vision for the future of PIRE and the next CEO. Following the Berkeley meeting, the Governance Committee will turn its attention to the other Centers, as the Board seeks input from all staff at PIRE.
In addition, a SharePoint site is being crafted that will include the Discussion Group Questions, the CEO Selection and Transition Plan Timeline, and the notes from the various Discussion Groups as they are held. This site will also provide the opportunity for Staff to write comments via a forum.
The Governance Committee includes the Staff Directors (Karen Friend, Al Stein-Seroussi, and Bob Saltz). Also participating in the roll-out of this process are Mary Gordon and Matt Courser. Staff should feel free to contact them with any questions or comments.
