PIRE researchers have also collaborated with community-based programs to validate comprehensive community trials of prevention strategies.

PIRE has established special expertise in designing and executing evaluations for community-based programs and coalitions focused on under-served populations, including minorities and the poor.

PIRE has provided forms of technical assistance and training to over 2,000 community-based programs and agencies. This assistance has included training on the theory of interventions, help with techniques of program operation and assistance with refining strategies to sustain promising programs.
