Pacific Institute has more than 200 employees working at six major centers and a number of project offices around the country and the world. Senior Staff at the Institute serve as principal investigators, research scientists, evaluators, and project directors. They are supported by seasoned research and program associates; research assistants; and finance, information technology, and administrative staff.

The collective experience of the staff of Pacific Institute includes extensive work in health and the social sciences: anthropology, child and adolescent health and development, communications, criminology, economics, education, law, mathematics, political science, psychology, public health, sociology, and systems analysis.

The executive and central business offices are located at PIRE Headquarters in Calverton, MD, and provide financial and administrative support to scientists and practitioners across the Institute. They assist in meeting all state and federal requirements for financial, personnel, and administrative management of Institute initiatives. A sophisticated financial tracking system allows investigators to maximize resources while completing projects within allotted budgets and timeframes.

Diane Williams has served PIRE as Secretary of the Corporation since 1998. She is also the Corporate Secretary of HBSA, Inc., the contributing organization to PIRE. She began her career at PIRE in 1994 as Administrative Manager of the CSAP Training Systems project.

In her functional role as Director of Executive Services and Corporate Communications, Ms. Williams directs the planning of all Board of Directors, executive and senior level meetings, and has the responsibility for corporate communications for PIRE, including public relations, and the design and maintenance of PIRE's brochures and web sites. She is the founder of PIRE's internal newsletter, PIRE News, and serves as Editorial Director.

Ms. Williams holds degrees from Southern Connecticut State College (BA, English) and New York University (MBA) and is a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP). She is a member of Board Source (the National Center for Nonprofit Boards), the National Association of Corporate Directors and the American Society of Notaries. She is a certified member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
