Principal Investigator: Michael HollifieldSponsor: RWJF (7/1/2009 - 12/31/2012) Proposal Abstract PIRE PI will be directing efforts to develop and evaluate screening with incoming refugees, 14 years and older, to King County in Washington State. The evaluation team will work with other Pathways to Wellness partners to help supervise the screeing coodinator, translators, and other appropriate team members to develop the final screeing product. Duties include helping to supervise/oversee: Translation of instruments into the relevant languages, Formatting of instruments to be culturally and scientifically acceptable, Implementation of screeing and other evaluation procedures, Establishment of data bases for the evaluation data, Training for the screeing coordinator on data entry, management, and basic analysis, Data analyses using parametric statistics, best fit models, and item analyses, and Development of the final screeing products. Other duties include: Assisting with 4 training sessions per year for refugee mental health providers Consulting with Pathways to Wellness team members on scientific work, dissemination of findings, and implementation of the screening and mental health invervention model to other locales.
