This is the second of two articles that evaluates the use of the Alcohol use Inventory (AUI) in a non-clinical population of driving-while-impaired (DWI) offenders who were mandated by the court to participate in a screening program. The first paper described comparisons between various demographic subgroups of the DWI sample and a clinical population, focusing primarily on reliabilities, normative data, and profiles of AUI scale scores. The purpose of the present study was to determine the validity of AUI in predicting driving outcomes during the 5-year period after the initial DWI conviction and screening referral.
