Proposal Abstract
The Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) in North Carolina was awarded a Department of Education Safe Schools/Healthy Students Grant in 2002. The aim of the grant is to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to enhance school safety, prevent violence and substance abuse, and facilitate education reform. PIRE is conducting a process and outcome evaluation for this initiative. Evaluation activities include documenting key project activities, interviewing community stakeholders, establishing an outcome monitoring system, and creating user-friendly reports for project stakeholders.
