Proposal Abstract
Preventing FASD: The Implementation and Impact of State Policies” is a NIAAA Pilot Study investigating the impact of public health-oriented and punitive laws on pregnant women’s decisions to seek substance abuse treatment and prenatal health services in California. It forms the foundation for a broader multi-state research project. This is an ARRA Administrative Supplement Providing Summer Research Experiences for Students and Science Educators to hire a summer student trainee (undergraduate) to accelerate the pace of the quantitative and qualitative data collection for the study and speed the timeline planned for submitting an R01 grant application.
