Several researchers have noted that minorities are overrepresented in the DWI population, and that minority status is a predicator of future DWI arrests. It is unclear why this would occur. This study compares DWI recidivism rates among non-Hispanic White, Hispanic, and American Indian convicted drunk drivers while statistically controlling for variables that influence recidivism.
