Proposal Abstract
The project's objective is to reduce the amount to time required to complete the documentation, report writing and data collection requirements associated with the DRE evaluation. The project's major takes will include the following: 1) The Grantee will recreate the DRE Evaluation report form on software that is compatible with the Palm Operating System (OS) and will function on PDA devices using the Palm OS. Wireless technology shall not be used to transfer data elements between PDA's and other computer systems, including the national database server for security reasons. 2) The Grantee will develop a users guide that defines the data points and drop-down menus on the report form. 3) The Grantee will develop and deliver a presentation on the functionality and capabilities of the PDA-based report form at the National Impaired Driving Conference in 2006.
