Proposal Abstract
The purpose of this contract is to initiate a consulting relationship between West Virginia University (WVU) Center for Rural Emergency Medicine (CREM) and PIRE Senior Research Scientist, Sandra L. Putman, PhD. The goal is to produce high quality, scientifically oriented products in the form of critical literature reviews, research proposals, and detailed plans for the design, implementation and evaluation of research projects in such content areas as substance abuse and injury epidemiology, prevention, and treatment and health services research. This consultation and the resulting work products will support the functions, increase the scope and resources, and expand the expertise of CREM. It will foster collaboration between and among WVU, PIRE, other universities and research groups and will increase the visibility and strengthen the national reputation of CREM.
